Life has been SUPER busy lately and I have been really bad about updating the blog.
So let's get caught up...
I completely forgot to mention that my best friend Heather was in town a few weeks ago! We went to dinner at Liberty on the Lake with our other friend Laura. Lucky for them, it happened to be the same day I got bad news from my doctor about my blood work and I had a small meltdown at dinner. Ha! That's what friends are for I guess! (Please excuse the fact that I look slightly overdressed...I had just come from a work event.)
Something very sad happened a few weeks ago. Brad's Sergeant and his wife were both killed in a tragic motorcycle accident. They left behind two teenage daughters. You can read the news article here. I have never seen Brad so upset before. He is really devastated. The county gave his squad a few days off of work following his death, so we decided to get in the car and go on a quick road trip. We spent the evening in Charlotte and had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants The Cheesecake Factory.
Yep, that's right y'all...we drove nearly two hours for the best darn turkey club sandwiches you will ever have in your life. And we also took a slice of lemon raspberry cheesecake to-go for the car ride home. :)
Brad and I both had to work for the 4th of July this year, so I didn't take any fun photos. I do want to share with you this AMAZING "Death by Chocolate" dessert recipe that I made for a cookout we had at work. It was such a hit and everyone loooooved it. I got the recipe from Kate at The Small Things Blog. The only difference is that I layered all of the ingredients and made it into a trifle. You can find the recipe here.
I have officially taken on another full-time job: planning my friend Sarah's bridal shower. It has literally taken over my life. Ha! (I am actually very thankful that it has kept me so busy because it has allowed me to take my mind off of my infertility struggles.)
The theme for the shower is "Monograms and Margaritas." I mean come on, would you really expect anything other than a monogram themed shower from me!?! :)
All of the details are really starting to come together and I'm getting very excited! :)
I'm so so proud of my hubby who was recognized for his five years of continuous service with the county sheriff's department yesterday.
The sheriff's department took this photo of Brad shaking the sheriff's hand.
On another note...I had my MRI done, which was awful by the way. I had no idea how loud the MRI machine was going to be. It was pretty scary. I heard from my doctor's office on Monday and while I don't have a tumor on my pituitary gland like they suspected, they did find two abnormal masses, which may or may not have anything to do with my infertility issues. Fabulous...still no real answers.
Next stop: the Endocrinologist.
