How far along? 10 Weeks (My weeks turn over on Friday, so I'm going to try my best to do my bumpdates every Friday from now on.) Total weight gain: still 7 pounds...thank goodness I didn't gain any more weight this week! Maternity clothes? My entire outfit in this photo is from Gap Maternity. I just got this cute coral top and I was super excited to have something cool to wear since it was so hot out today. (82 degrees in December...so crazy!) It's still a little big, but I'm sure I'll grow into it very soon. I'm wearing a nude camisole underneath it, which I also got in white and black, and of course I'm wearing my favorite pair of skinny jeans. Stretch marks? Not yet. I'm trying to decide what kind of lotion/oil to buy. Any suggestions? Sleep: Sleeping well, except I have a hard time going back to sleep after I wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Best moment this week: Our crib arrived! I can't wait to put it together! Miss Anything? This is a no brainer: my weekly spray tans...I'm seriously albino folks. My doctor told me it was safe after the 1st trimester, so in just a couple of weeks I will have a healthy glow again...and I CANNOT WAIT. Also, I should have specified this before...I miss COLD turkey sandwiches. I know I can eat deli meat if I heat it up until steaming to avoid Listeria, but what I really want is a COLD turkey sub...for every single meal. Movement: Not yet! Food cravings: No real cravings yet, but here's what I'm loving: Sonic Diet Cherry Limeades, Lemonade, Fruit Smoothies, Baked Potatoes, Pizza, Cracklin' Oat Bran cereal (I used to eat this as a kid all the time...I haven't had it in years, but I've been eating it like crazy this week), and Cutie oranges. It's so funny because I had my first cutie last week when my parents were here visiting (they brought some with them) ...I don't know why I've never had one before...but now I'm OBSESSED. I went and bought a huge bag of them and I eat 3-4 a day. Anything making you queasy or sick: My nausea is getting better, but if I haven't eaten, I feel sick. Mornings are the worst...I have to eat right after I get out of bed. I am SO fortunate that I have not vomited once this entire pregnancy. Overall, I think I've had it very easy so far. Food aversions are definitely still going on. I managed to eat some Spaghetti that Brad made earlier this week...I normally love Brad's spaghetti, but I'm still completely grossed out by ground beef. I usually love to eat the leftovers, but I just couldn't do it this time. Gender: Still thinking it's a Boy...but we won't know for sure until January 20th Labor Signs: No Symptoms: I'm still starving all the time...it's getting to be kind of ridiculous, my chest still hurts like a mother and feels like it's getting larger every day...and I'm still tired, but I'm starting to get some of my energy back. Wedding rings on or off? On, but the other night my fingers were so swollen that I couldn't get my rings off. I had to run my hand under cold water for a long time before I finally got it off. This has NEVER happened to me before. Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy :) Looking forward to: The Second Trimester
I'm linking up with Lauren over atLauren Elizabeth to share my five favorite things about this week.
1. We finally decorated the house for Christmas. This is the latest we have ever been getting the tree up. I just love Christmas decor! :)
2. I just discovered today that Food Lion carries Friendly's Ice Cream now!!!!!!! And they even have Black Raspberry, which is my absolute favorite flavor! I grew up eating at Friendly's when I lived in upstate New York, and I would always order Black Raspberry ice cream with gummy bears on it for dessert. I also bought a carton of the Orange Creme. (Orange Sherbet and Vanilla)
3. We are so grateful for the sweet Congratulations Cards we received in the mail today from relatives. And look how cute these USC Baby socks are that my Aunt Pam sent us! (Thank-you so much!!!)
4. My parents ordered our crib for us last week and it was delivered on Wednesday. I have been in love with this crib for years. It got discontinued a while ago, so as soon as I found out I was pregnant I knew we had to get it before it was gone! It is the Babi Italia "Mayfair" Crib in Oyster Shell from BabiesRUs. I love that it isn't a bright white, but a brushed cream with a distressed look with an antique glaze. (For some reason the photo above makes the crib look more gray than it really is.)
5. My sweet friend Jennifer wrote the most touching blog post the other day. It had me in tears. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful friend. :) Thanks Jennifer!!!
How far along? 9 Weeks 3 days Total weight gain: 7 pounds...I can't believe how much weight I've gained already! Probably because the only thing I want to eat right now are carbs! Maternity clothes? So far I've only been wearing the one pair of maternity jeans. I still fit into all of my work pants, but they are getting harder and harder to button. I bought two BeBands from Target to wear over my pants unbuttoned, but I think they are SO uncomfortable. They just don't stay in place. I have a feeling I'll be wearing strictly maternity pants very soon! Stretch marks? Not yet, but I better start using some coconut oil. Sleep: I can't get enough of it. I'm exhausted all the time. Best moment this week: Telling everyone that we are expecting! Thank-you everyone for your sweet comments and messages! They mean more to me than you will ever know. :) We are truly blessed. Miss Anything? I'm still missing turkey sandwiches and my weekly spray tans. I also missed drinking a glass of wine with my Thanksgiving dinner last week. Movement: Too soon... Food cravings: No cravings, but I can't seem to get enough Gatorade and fruit smoothies. The only foods that sound good to me right now are fruit, dry cereal (Crispix), pizza, pasta, bagels, and baked potatoes. Anything making you queasy or sick: Just about everything...still completely grossed out by red meat. Gender: We find out January 20th! I can't wait!!!! Labor Signs: No Symptoms: I'm still starving 24/7, but I don't want to eat because most foods gross me out. It's a no win situation really. :) I'm also extremely tired 24/7. I can barely make it through an 8 hour work day. Wedding rings on or off? On Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy...how could I not be?!? Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound in 3 weeks!
This is a photo from our first ultrasound last Monday...It was love at first sight! Baby Maxwell has a super strong heartbeat of 176 and is measuring right on time. Our official due date is the 4th of July!
I can't believe I'm finally able to do my very own "Bumpdates!" (This post was originally written on Friday, November 22nd. I was waiting to share it after we had made our big announcement.)
How far along? 8 Weeks Total weight gain: 4 pounds...I blame it all on my chest, which has practically doubled in size...and they hurt like a mother! Maternity clothes? Believe it or not, my regular jeans have already become too tight to wear comfortably. I actually wore a pair of maternity jeans this week. I bought these skinny jeans on sale from Gap before I was even pregnant. They have a demi-panel waist and are super comfortable. I may even still wear them post-baby! Ha! Also, the top I'm wearing above is maternity. I bought it at Target over the summer on clearance for $6! I have it in two other colors as well. Stretch marks? Not yet! Sleep: I no longer sleep through the night. I wake up around 2 am every morning to pee. I have a feeling this is only going to get worse! Best moment this week: Wearing my new bras I got at Victoria Secret. I outgrew all of mine a couple weeks ago, so I finally went out and bought some new ones. I can't believe I had to go up a whole band & cup size! Miss Anything? I desperately miss being able to eat turkey sandwiches. It's the only thing I want most of the time. I also miss getting my weekly spray tans. I'm super pale right now! :( Movement: Nope, it's way too soon! Food cravings: I don't really have any cravings right now, but there are certain foods that I am eating a lot of that don't gross me out. I eat dry Crispix cereal every morning before I even get out of bed. I also eat a ton of greek yogurt, bananas, peanut butter, whole wheat ritz crackers, and grilled chicken sandwiches. Anything making you queasy or sick: There are tons of the things that disgust me right now. The things that really gross me out are any kind of red meat and cheese dip...two things that I normally love! Gender: I'm 99.9% sure it's a boy....but we won't find out until January. Labor Signs: No Symptoms: I'm starving alllllll the time. I have this empty pit feeling in my stomach that won't go away. I just keep eating to get rid of it. My energy level has gone back up a little bit this week. Still feeling queasy at times, especially when I first wake up in the morning...this goes away when I eat. Wedding rings on or off? On Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy most of the time, unless I haven't eaten...then I get really moody. Looking forward to: Going to our very first ultrasound on Monday!
I know, I know. I am SO bad about updating my blog lately. I've been super busy at work as I'm gearing up for the busy holiday season!
My father-in-law Mike came to visit from West Virginia last weekend. I didn't take a lot of pictures mainly because men don't like to be photographed...I just don't understand why.
On Friday night, we went to Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse for dinner. This was the second time Brad and I have been there. It was Mike's very first time going to a Brazilian steakhouse. I think he really enjoyed it. I know I sure did! (I ate so much that I actually had to unbutton my pants at the dinner table after I finished eating...how embarrassing!!!) Believe it or not, I have decided that my favorite thing to eat at Rioz is the Chicken Salad from the salad bar. Next time I told Brad I'm just going to order the salad bar and skip all the meat. They seriously have soooooo much to choose from on their salad bar. It's ridiculous!
On Saturday, Brad and his Dad went to the USC vs. Mississippi State game...we won...GO COCKS! Too bad I had to work...boo!
On Sunday, we went the Exhibition basketball game. We played USC Aiken and of course we beat them.
I think Brad was embarrassed because I insisted on taking a few pictures at the game.
Thanks for coming to visit us Mike! We had a great time! Come back soon!
We've had a very busy weekend y'all! We just returned home from Myrtle Beach where my friend Sarah got married this weekend. The wedding was held at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, which was an absolutely gorgeous venue and very nice hotel...we really enjoyed our stay.
The wedding was absolutely picture perfect. We had a such a great time! I feel so honored that I got to be a part of their special day.
I was so happy I got to see Heather...she was a bridesmaid as well. We exchanged Birthday gifts with each other (only two/three months late...Ha!) I gave Heather her favorite scented candle from Bath & Body Works that is now discontinued, but the bellhop who carried our luggage to our room dropped the gift bag and it shattered into a million pieces! :(
The rehearsal was on Friday night at the resort. The rehearsal dinner was held right after at the Groom's family beach house just down the road. The theme of the dinner was a "Bonfire Bash," which was perfect since it was freezing cold that night. We ate delicious barbecue for dinner...Yum!
We started getting ready on Saturday morning in a room at the hotel that they had set-up for us. Sarah had her hairstylist and a few others come to do our hair.
Look how gorgeous the flowers were!
